Half Way Around the word without a plane

Night Bazaars

One of Thai customs that we expecially like ; the night bazaars.

Open from around 6pm to 10pm, they provide all sorts of different foods for the Thais, who come to enjoy the food, socialize or just walk around.

Browsing one of those markets, you can satisfie your eyes and palate...

For your eyes, see here below...for your palate, you will have to trust my word!

A boiling soup for a starter?

OR...

...a spicy fresh salad

with your choice of green papaya or mango, pinapple, carots, cole...

The Thai answer to Mc Donald's

And to KFC!!!

but so much crispier, fresher, tastier...

Wanna go for something healthy?

Assorted steamed vegies;

little round eggplant, green beans, varied "leafy asian vegies",

bamboo and soja shots, mushrooms...

THE "STICKS";

Easy to munch on while browsing the market!

Whole skids wrapped around a stick and fried

Spicy minced pork on a stick

We are now out of Muslim countries Pork is back in our plates!

More sticks with all sorts of stuffs...not sure what's in them,

but dipped in the special thai sweet and sour sauce it is

GORGEOUS

DESSERTS!!!

This is no novelty : we are sweet tooth...and Thailand is a paradise for us; there are hundreds of little sweet snacks available everywhere from carts, throughout the day!

With a liberal use of condensed milk and coconut, our favourites are very sweet affairs...

We are less enthousiastic about the multicolored sweet drinks or creams, which have a bit too much of a chemical taste...

Jelly-Coconut cakes!

Nice but only in very small quantities.

Mini "crêpes"filled with

a condensed milk cream and eaten warm

Martabak.

This specialty seems to have conquered the whole of south-east asia, from Indonesia to Thailand.

Here it is filled with a very creamy coconut jam, the "Kaya"...

Various Jellies and fruit drinks...

they can't help putting chemical colouring in those stuff...

"I SWEAR, MUM, I'M EATING HEALTHY!"

THE FRUITS!

All peeled and cut in small pieces, ready to eat!

Served with their chilly powder!!!

There is also numerous curries, meat or fishes in various sauces or grilled...

Easy to choose (no Thai menu to read!)

Very cheap (it's possible to eat for 1euro, including dessert!)

What else can we wish for?

...Romain says "a rare steak!"

NB; Travelling is not good for Romain; he started eating BROCOLIES at lunch time!!! I've the feeling that by the time we reach China he'll be eating Courgettes!!!
