Half Way Around the word without a plane

A few pictures of the temples...

As I promised, here are a few pictures selected amongst the 200+ that we took...Yes, this site is quite inspiring...

I leave it up to you to make your own mind...

The famous Angkor temple outlined by the morning light...a true jewell, but not the most beatiful temple when seen from close.

The famous "face towers" from the Angkor Tom citadel

Ta Prohm temple, where silkcotton trees conquered the whole temple.

Feeling of discovery and jungle...

Finely carved dancers on

the pilars of Bantey Kdei

10 armed Shiva dancing the world to its end

We learned a lot about hindouism and buddihsm culture and mythology.

It looks like step by step we are building a big puzzle in our minds where all the countries we visited, their culture, religions, langages, the face of their people, the taste of their food...are slowly fitting together to from a huge system of influences, relashionships, History of this zone that we call Extreme orient in french (East and South asia, I guess) which cover all the countries from India to China...

We could compare it to Europe...only this is a much larger area, more religions and influences that are very different...hence a very complex riddle...

This is thrilling and the more we find out, learn, experience, the more curious it leaves us...

Yours, extreme orientally,
