Half Way Around the word without a plane

Yachtie’s life

We meet a lot of Yachties since we are in OZ. Mostly retired couple, who spent the summer in Papua New-Guinea or North australia and are coming down south for the winter and the cyclone season.

In most anchorage, we are the youngest crew, so people are quite nice with us, giving us a lot of advices.

When getting out of Cairns marina, we got deported by the strong currents onto our neighbourg’s boat. Our heavy steel boat hit his wooden boat…causing quite a few damages, but he let us go with a "enjoy your trip" and no bill!!!

Dinghies on Lizard’s island beach, during the daily « yachties 5 o’clocks drinks »

We had a 4stars navigation from Cairns to Cape Greenville…going 6 knots, instead of the usual 4, and the swell has been very confortable, so we could sleep reasonably well and cook easily…
