Bali's update

We are now in Bali, this seems for us like a big achievment...it seemed fo far in time and space when we left Noumea, and now, here we are!!!

We would like to share some numbers that reflect our life for the last few months ;

- 3 month exactly to cover the distance Nouméa-Bali (we left Noumea on 13th septembre, and arrived in Bali on 13 novembre !)

- 4000 Nautical Miles (7300km)

- 1000 sailing hours, including 450 night watch hours

- 280 motor sailing hours (mostly in Indonesia)…with only 3 break downs, not bad, when you think about it ;-)!

- 4 Marinas (Bundaberg, Cairns, Darwin et Bali)

- 24 Achorages

- 3 countries et 15 islands (NC, 6 in Australia and 8 in Indonesia)

- And countless hours spent hoisting, triming and bringing down sails, mucking around in the engine, cooking with one hand, trying to find a sleeping position were you can actually sleep, fishing....

We spent really good times, and went through some hardships, tiredness, difficult crossings...

But overall, this has been a great experience, and we learned so much about sailing, seamanship, people, ourselves (and the rest of the crew!)

Tequila is now taking a well deserved rest in Bali Marina

Higgins (the engine) is being revamped by an indonesian mechanics (we will see if they are any better than the Darwin ones, which we wouldn't recommend!!!)

Our Captain is happily heading to France, where, much to his content, I think, his bigger decisions will have to do with what drinks he want for "apero"

And we are heading to Sulawesi (celebes) for a 10days hike in the Toraja's land...we are in great need of some actual sport, as we've been enjoying too much indonesian food and been too lazy, lately...
